December was extremely busy for the Airyfairies as corporate orders flooded in from companies across Manchester wanting to thank their customers for business this year and wish them a Merry Christmas. We didn't have time to take pictures of all our wares but a few are below!
We've also catered for several weddings for lucky (and very busy!) brides between Christmas and New Year, a great time of year to get married - some pictures below for you to drool over!
Well, October has been a busy, busy month and it's not over yet! Firstly we were at the FEAST Market in St Ann's Square for 6 days at the beginning of the month. The weekend in particular was extremely busy, selling out, restocking with several hundred cakes and then selling out again!
We were also featured in the Daily Mirror on 22nd October as part of a wider cupcake feature - very exciting and as a result, a flood of orders came through helping us to share the cakey love!
As if that wasn't enough Laura, Chief Airyfairy won a little business competition and £500 of M&S vouchers to boot...! Read all about it here
Another fab event was when the lovely Shona from Green Tea Restaurant on Burton Road asked us to create a tower of mini Green Tea cupcakes for their launch party. The restaurant looked absolutely beautiful - a quick picture below but to see it in all it's glory check out Sian (from Moregeous) blog post
about businesses working together.
So far in September we've had a couple of claims to fame ;-) firstly, our cupcakes are going to be featured on an ITV programme airing in January. Sian of Moregeous asked us to create some cupcakes for a lovely cottage, we then also thought a giant Homemade Victoria Sponge cake would fit with the country feel. Pictures below!
Flowers were provided by Didsbury Flower Lounge
WestFest2010 took place on Burton Road, West Didsbury on the first weekend of September.
The Airyfairies were out in force at Love2Eat Deli, we took lots of little ones through their paces to decorate cupcakes with icing and funny faces. Future Airyfairies in the making!
Remember we are available for parties and events to do something similar with your little ones. The South Manchester Reporter took some pictures of little Sophie with Chief Airyfairy Laura, Airyfairy Adele and helper Imani also featured on the front page, no less!
We've also had a nice little mention from the one and only Emma Forbes on her website - have a little looky here
We've launched our Airyfairy Taster Panel, a group of volunteers who are kindly giving us feedback, so that we can ensure our new flavours are the best! These poor souls are subjected to free cupcakes (tough job
but they always seem to have a smile on their face....)
We also got through to the final of the National Cupcake Week competition, fantastic news and we headed off to London for the final. Our 'Get your 5 a day' entry made it through to the final 15 from hundreds of
entrants and whilst we weren't placed, it's only our first year - here's to 2011!
Our favourite cupcake this month (apart from an influx of cookies and cream orders) was the request to do a glamorous Fairy Godmother for a hen party. We went for pink and cream and a plume of feathers, there were also, shoes, edible diamonds, glitter and hearts...oh and cake....every girls dream?! Just to whet your appetite there's a little picture below....
Our pictures above are some of our other cupcakes delivered across Didsbury and Manchester. Jo Padmore Eyewear ordered 150 teeny tiny mini cupcakes for a Paul Smith Open Day, the lovely Lauren and Rich were delighted with their Mini Victoria Sponge cakes for their English Country Garden wedding and the lovely Elizabeth ordered 21st Birthday cupcakes (pictured top right)
"Just a quick note to say thank you for the cupcakes they were delicious. They looked fantastic too. Everyone was so impressed. Will be in touch when I need some more. Thanks". - Elizabeth
"I just had to contact you and say how delicious your cakes are! My neighbour Seema ordered some for her daughters excellent exam results and I was lucky enough to have two! I will be ordering some in the future and am passing your cards around". - Mo
"Just wanted to say a very BIG thank you for the beautiful cup cake display for Harrison's christening. Everybody loved them, they tasted delicious and didn't last long I had to fight for one!!. You made a gorgeous giant cup cake so detailed and exactly what we wanted. It was all stunning and everyone commented on how lovely it all was. I had recommended you to everyone there and they snatched up the cards you left.
Thank you so much for making it special for my little boy." - Amie
July saw the Airyfairies fly down to the Didsbury Food Market (outside the library!), our first one but sure now to be regulars. Fantastic feedback from lots of lovely people, oh and complete sell out by 2pm (you have to be early to get these babies!) The market will be on the 2nd Saturday of every month - come down and say hello!
We also had a rush on birthday cakes and love love love making the Fairy Godmothers!
We've also spent a little while producing our lovely new packaging, ideal for boxes of 1, 4 or 12 cupcakes, just add 50p (single boxes) or £1 to your order.
June had well and truly arrived with our World Cup inspired cupcakes and Strawberries and Cream Wimbledon themed lovelies. We were also asked to cater for the new Gucci Guilty perfume launch - GOLD was the theme!
We've also been working hard on this, our lovely new website! Let us know what you think won't you!!
May...Mayhem more like! Things went all a bit crazy as we sold out both days at the Southport Food and Drink Festival then featured in the Southport Visiter, then went on to the Manchester Piccadilly Emerging Talent Market. We were also asked to do a fair few themed parties ranging from Dr Who, through to Mad Hatters and Roald Dahl!
April saw the Bury Wedding Fair where we spoke to lots of lovely brides and grooms to be! We also did an Easter themed wedding, complete with lemon cupcakes and lots of chick decorations on our largest 10 tier tower.
We also linked up with Pixie Childrenswear in Didsbury, a lovely lovely shop, who from time to time feature Airyfairycupcakes to keep the children happy while the Mums shop!
